112 YoungPeople @Church...or Not?
Young Catholics are leaving the Church. Saint Mary’s Press has asked them why. The results presented in “Going, Going, Gone” helps us better understand the dynamics of disaffiliation. The stories of the disaffiliated serve as a gift that can help us explore implications for ministry. How are we called to connect with and accompany the young people in our communities? How might we invite people to share their own stories? Where does technology (YouTube, Twitter, memes, and more) fit into all of this? We will explore these questions together.

Explore the implications of the Internet of Things (IoT), the use of digital video and images, as well as micro-learning in the way we form faith. Leave with an understanding of the emerging research and thinking of learning today; Dialogue about the implications for how we teach and pass on faith.

120 Living Virtuously Through Social Media
Social media's use for information and self-expression can sometimes become an outlet for angry rants, misinformation and indiscretion. Media mindfulness is built on the foundation of critical inquiry, bringing one's values into conversation with the media messages. But what do we really value? Are those values congruent with the virtues? Virtues are habits of being that promote respect as the core of a happy life. How can we live the good life within a digital culture? See how living virtuously through social media can be the difference in our faith in a digital age.
